Con Dao is a protected national park where forest and marine ecosystems remain largely untouched, with approximately 6,000 hectares of designated forest within a total natural area of over 7,600 hectares. The destination is home to more than 1,000 plant species and around 155 terrestrial vertebrate species, including the Con Dao black squirrel, long tailed macaque, and a variety of native birdlife.
